AMX Screen Recorder Enters Open Beta
AMX Screen Recorder is now open for public beta testing — high-bitrate capture built for 120 FPS gameplay, internal audio, no watermark. Here is what works today and what is still landing.
AMX Screen Recorder is now in open beta. It exists because of one recurring complaint: you unlock 120 FPS, you record a clip to show someone, and the recorder takes back a third of the frames you just gained.
What It Does Today
High-bitrate capture tuned for high frame rates. Presets for 60 and 120 FPS capture with bitrates that survive fast motion instead of dissolving into blocks the moment the camera swings.
Internal audio. Game audio is recorded directly, with no second device and no microphone picking up your room.
Floating controls that stay out of the frame. Start, stop and pause from an overlay that is excluded from the recording itself.
No watermark, no time limit, no account. The full feature set, free, with nothing to sign into.
What Is Still Landing
Being honest about the state of a beta:
- Facecam overlay — in testing, not yet in the public build.
- Per-app audio routing — capturing game audio while excluding notifications.
- Trim and export — basic cuts without a separate editor.
- Wider device coverage — some MediaTek chipsets need per-device encoder profiles.
Known Issues
- On a handful of OEM skins the floating controls can be killed by aggressive battery management. Locking the app in Recents works around it.
- Recording at 120 FPS on midrange hardware may fall back to 60 FPS when the encoder cannot keep up. Currently this happens silently; a warning is coming.
- Very long recordings — over roughly 40 minutes — are not yet split into segments, which produces large files.

Sign up through the beta form — it takes a minute, and the current build comes back to you. Builds and changelogs also go out through the Telegram channel, where the latest one stays pinned.

Why Not the Play Store Yet?
Because the beta is moving fast and the review cycle is not. Once the encoder profiles cover the common chipsets and the known issues above are closed, it ships to Play alongside FPS Unlocker and FPS Monitor.

Does recording reduce my frame rate?
Some cost is unavoidable — encoding is real work. The recorder uses hardware encoding to keep that cost low, typically a few frames rather than a third of them.
