AMX Screen Recorder

Record your screen with internal audio. 120 FPS, no watermark, no time limit.

AMX Screen Recorder records your screen in high quality with internal audio — no root, no watermark and no time limit. It was built for one thing: recording gameplay without slowing the game down.

What AMX Screen Recorder Does

  • Full-screen video capture at your display’s native resolution
  • Internal audio from games and apps (Android 10+), your microphone, or both mixed
  • Smooth motion at 30, 60, 90 or 120 FPS, matched to what your screen can deliver
  • H.265 (HEVC) for smaller files, or H.264 (AVC) for maximum compatibility
  • Low overhead — the recorder stays out of the way of the game’s render thread
  • Video bitrate up to 48 Mbps for detailed, artefact-free gameplay footage
  • Start and stop from a Quick Settings tile without leaving the game
  • Recordings survive a crash — if the app is killed mid-session the file is rebuilt and saved instead of lost

No Shizuku, no root

Shizuku is not needed. Screen capture is granted by Android’s own confirmation dialog at the start of every recording session.

Permissions, Explained

Every permission AMX Screen Recorder asks for, and what it is used for.

Screen capture
Captures the picture. Android shows its own confirmation dialog before every session and a cast icon while one is active, so the app cannot start a capture without your tap.
Microphone (RECORD_AUDIO)
Required by Android for both microphone recording and internal audio capture. Choose “No audio” and it is never used.
Foreground service
Keeps the recorder alive and visible in a notification while you use other apps. Without it Android would stop your recording as soon as you switched away.
Notifications
Shows the ongoing recording notification with the timer and the Stop button.
Battery optimisation exemption
Optional, and only if you grant it. It asks Android not to kill long recordings on aggressive power-saving devices.
Photos and videos (READ_MEDIA_VIDEO)
Optional, asked for in the library rather than at startup. Reinstalling the app or clearing its storage makes Android forget which app created your existing recordings, and this is the only thing that puts them back in the list. It reads Movies/AMXRecorder and nothing else; on Android 14 and later you can hand over individual videos instead of all of them.

Full detail is in the AMX Screen Recorder privacy policy.

Before You Install

The things worth knowing up front, rather than after.

  • Internal audio capture needs Android 10 or newer and works only with apps that allow it. Some music and video streaming apps block capture for copyright reasons — that is an Android restriction, not something any recorder can bypass.
  • Recordings are written to Movies/AMXRecorder on your device and never leave it unless you share them yourself.
  • Reinstalling the app or clearing its storage makes Android hide your existing recordings from the library. The files are untouched — allow the app to read videos and they reappear.

AMX Screen Recorder — Frequently Asked Questions

How do I join the beta?

Sign up through the beta form at https://forms.gle/npu7trQbBxEZH4dNA and the current build is sent to you. Builds and changelogs are also posted in the Telegram channel, t.me/FPS_UNLOCKER.

Is there a watermark or a recording time limit?

Neither. There is no watermark on your videos and no recording time limit — the only stopping point is the storage left on your device.

Why does a screen recorder ask for the microphone?

Android requires the microphone permission for both microphone recording and internal audio capture. If you choose “No audio”, it is never used.

Why is there no sound when I record a streaming app?

Internal audio capture needs Android 10 or newer and only works with apps that allow it. Some music and video streaming apps block capture for copyright reasons. That is an Android restriction that no recorder can bypass.

What is free, and what does Pro unlock?

Everything you need to record screen video is free: up to 60 FPS, 24 Mbps video and 192 kbps audio. Pro unlocks the top of the range — 120 FPS and Auto frame rate, 48 Mbps video, 320 kbps audio and the Quick Settings tile.

Where do my recordings go?

Video files are written to your device’s own media storage in Movies/AMXRecorder and appear in your gallery like any other video. They are never uploaded, scanned or transmitted anywhere.
